Arrival by Car
coming from the north:
*autobahn Munich – Salzburg, A10 Tauern Autobahn as far as the St. Michael exit – St. Margarethen
*toll-free alternative using the A10 Tauern Autobahn to the Ennstal / Altenmarkt interchange, then on the B99 Katschbergstraße via Radstadt and Obertauern to Lungau, turn right in Mauterndorf towards St. Michael – St. Margarethen
coming from the south:
*autostrada Udine – Tarvisio – Villach on the A10 Tauern Autobahn – Katschberg (toll charges), St. Michael exit – St. Margarethen
*toll-free alternative using the autostrada from Udine and A10 Tauern Autobahn to the Rennweg exit, continue on the B99 Katschbergstraße, over the Katschberghöhe to St. Michael – St. Margarethen
coming from the east:
*from Vienna via Semmering – A21 and S6 Semmering expressway, as far as St. Michael/Styria, then on the S36 Murtal expressway to Judenburg, B96 Murtalstraße via Unzmarkt – Murau – Ramingstein – Thomatal – St. Margarethen
*from Vienna via the A1 West Autobahn Linz – Salzburg, then on the A10 Tauern Autobahn as far as the St. Michael exit – St. Margarethen and A10 Tauern Autobahn to the Ennstal / Altenmarkt interchange and on the B99 Katschbergstrasße via Radstadt and Obertauern into the Lungau region, make a right in Mauterndorf, continue towards St. Michael – St. Margarethen
Please be aware that you will require a toll sticker if you choose to use the Austrian autobahns!

Arrival by train and bus
from the north:
by Austrian Railways (ÖBB) to the train station in Bischofshofen or Radstadt, then continue by Postbus or taxi to Lungau
from the south:
by Austrian Railways (ÖBB) to the station in Spittal-Millstättersee, then continue by Postbus or taxi to Lungau
from the east:
from Vienna and Graz on Austrian Railways (ÖBB) to Unzmarkt, then continue using the Murtalbahn line to Tamsweg, followed by Postbus or taxi to St. Margarethen
Arrival by air
*to Salzburg Airport – Salzburg W. A. Mozart Airport (approximately 115 km)
*to Klagenfurt Airport – Carinthia (125 km)
*to Munich “Franz Josef Strauss” Airport (280 km)
